The HP ProLiant DL380 G7 is a Dual Processor system with nine DIMM slots per CPU. There are three memory channels per CPU and each memory channel manages three DIMM slots. This means the HP ProLiant DL380 G7 will only support two Quad Rank or two unbuffered DIMM per channel. Along with standard RDIMM and UDIMM, the HP ProLiant DL380 G7 also supports options for low voltage. It is never recommended to mix modules with different speeds. Load reduced DIMM are designed with a buffer chip (or chips) to replace the register to help minimize loading, the LRDIMM increases server system memory capacity and speed. LRDIMM differs from low capacity, low voltage registered memory modules (LV RDIMM).
   
   
7. Can I mix ECC Reg with ECC unbuffered or Non-ECC memory?
