Dell Precision T7610 Memory Configuration
The T7610 is a Dual Processor system with 8 DIMM slots per CPU. There are four memory channels per CPU. Each memory channel manages two DIMM slots. Along with standard RDIMMs and UDIMMs, the T7610 also supports Load Reduced DIMMs, as well as options for standard or low voltage. You cannot mix different memory types. Different speeds can be mixed but the modules will function at the slowest speed installed.
Cloud Ninjas' Dell Precision T7610 Memory Upgrade Tips
- There are a total of 16 DIMM slots on the Dell T7610 workstation.
- Sizes supported: 2GB, 4GB, 8GB or 16GB ECC Registered (RDIMM); and 2GB or 4GB Unbuffered (UDIMM); and 32GB Load Reducing (LRDIMM).
- DO NOT MIX DIFFERENT MEMORY TYPES.
- The T7610 maxes out at 256GB of ECC Registered memory (16 x 16GB). Whereas unbuffered tops out at 64GB (16 x 4GB).
- The absolute top of the line RAM would be via load reducing memory. The Dell T7610 could get all the way up to 512GB (16x32GB) Memory.
- The Precision T7610 workstation supports memory speeds of 1866MHz, 1600MHz or 1333MHz ECC and non-ECC DDR3 memory
- Think Long Term! Purchase the maximum amount that your Dell Precision T7610 can hold and avoid wasting time and money on modules you won't be able to use if you upgrade again.
- The total number of memory modules must equal 4, 8, 12 or 16. To properly configure your system, install a minimum of four memory modules first.
Cloud Ninjas' Dell Precision T7610 Questions & Answers
- What sizes can you use for the Dell Precision T7610 Workstation?
The Dell Precision T7610 Workstation can be upgraded using 2 GB, 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB, or 32 GB DIMM.
Get your kit at https://cloudninjas.com/.
- What speeds are supported by the Dell Precision T7610 Workstation?
The Dell Precision T7610 Workstation can support up to 1066, 1333, or 1600 Mt/s.
- What types of RAM are accepted by the Dell Precision T7610 Workstation?
The Dell Precision T7610 Server supports RDIMM, LRDIMM and UDIMM.
- What is ECC Registered Memory?
The Dell Precision T7610 Workstation supports registered memory with ECC. ECC memory detects and corrects memory errors within the server environment. Registered (also called buffered) memory modules register between DRAM modules and the system's memory controller. ECC Registered Memory transfers less electrical load to your memory controller which makes it more stable and reliable.
- What is Unbuffered Memory?
The Dell Precision T7610 Workstation does support unbuffered memory with ECC. Unbuffered memory is memory that has no register between your DRAM and your system’s memory controller.
- What is Load Reduced Memory?
The Dell Precision T7610 Workstation does support load reduced DIMM (LRDIMM). Load reduced DIMM is designed with a buffer chip (or chips) to replace the register to help minimize loading, the LRDIMM increases server system memory capacity and speed.
- Can I mix ECC Reg with ECC unbuffered or Non-ECC memory?
The Dell Precision T7610 Workstation does not support the use of both unregistered and registered memory with ECC or the use of non-ECC memory. It is recommended to use identical memory configuration in all channels. Get your kit at https://cloudninjas.com/.
- What is max configuration?
The Dell Precision T7610 Workstation supports the standard maximum configuration of 256 GB using sixteen 16 GB RDIMM and can be upgraded up to 512 GB using sixteen 32 GB LRDIMM.
- How many memory channels per CPU?
The Dell Precision T7610 Workstation has four channels which house 2 DIMM sockets each.
- How do I identify the start of the memory channel?
The Dell Precision T7610 Workstation requires module installation in each channel to start with the DIMM farthest from the processor by largest rank count to the smallest.
- Where can I order memory for my workstation?
Order your memory at https://cloudninjas.com/ by finding and selecting the memory package that is right for you.
- How soon will my RAM arrive?
Orders placed before 8 am are set for same day processing and shipping. Delivery times vary based on carrier and location.
- What is the warranty on memory for the workstation?
Cloud Ninjas offers a one-year warranty on fully tested, refurbished memory.
- Is this RAM Dell labeled or Dell branded? No. The memory shipped from Cloud Ninjas is compatible with your Dell system. However, it will not have a Dell sticker. We ship major brands such as Samsung, Hynix and Micron.
