Cloud Ninjas' Dell PowerEdge T30 Mini Questions & Answers
- What sizes can you use for the Dell PowerEdge T30 Mini Server?
The Dell PowerEdge T30 Mini Server can be upgraded using 2 GB, 4 GB, 8 GB, and 16 GB. Get your kit at https://cloudninjas.com/.
- What speeds are supported by the Dell PowerEdge T30 Mini Server Server?
The Dell PowerEdge T30 Mini Server can support up to 2400 MT/s based on DIMM and configuration.
- What types of RAM are accepted by the Dell PowerEdge T30 Mini Server?
The Dell PowerEdge T30 Mini Server supports UDIMM.
- What is ECC Registered Memory?
The Dell PowerEdge T30 Mini Server does not support registered memory with ECC. ECC memory detects and corrects memory errors within the server environment. Registered (also called buffered) memory modules register between DRAM modules and the system's memory controller. ECC Registered Memory transfers less electrical load to your memory controller which makes it more stable and reliable.
- What is Unbuffered Memory?
The Dell PowerEdge T30 Mini Server Server supports unbuffered memory with ECC. Unbuffered memory is memory that has no register between your DRAM and your system’s memory controller.
- What is Load Reduced Memory?
The Dell PowerEdge T30 Mini Server does support load reduced DIMM (LRDIMM). Load reduced DIMM is designed with a buffer chip (or chips) to replace the register to help minimize loading, the LRDIMM increases server system memory capacity and speed.
- Can I mix ECC Reg with ECC unbuffered or Non-ECC memory?
The Dell PowerEdge T30 Mini Server does not support the use of both unregistered and registered memory with ECC or the use of non-ECC memory. It is recommended to use identical memory configuration in all channels.
- What is max configuration?
The Dell PowerEdge T30 Mini Server allows the maximum configuration of 64 GB using four 16 GB UDIMM. Get your kit at https://cloudninjas.com/.
- How many memory channels per CPU?
The Dell PowerEdge T30 Server has 4 memory sockets which are split into two channels at 2 DIMM per channel.
- How do I identify the start of the memory channel?
Memory for the Dell PowerEdge T30 Mini Server must be installed in each channel, starting with the DIMM farthest from the processor at largest to smallest. For example, if DIMM are mixed and you have more single rank DIMM, a single rank DIMM and then a dual rank DIMM are placed in the lowest DIMM slots based on the single rank DIMM count which is higher.
- Where can I order memory for my server?

They work great and improved my overall computer performance. I ended up using just four of the six I ordered because I could never get my T-3610 to recognize the two additional sticks. I now think that my machine requires even sets of memory. I am pretty sure if I had filled all slots with new 8GB ram modules it would have accepted them all. But I am okay with 32GB.There was very litle info online about the ram setup on this machine. I returned the extra two 8GB sticks with no problem.
The RAM was exactly what I needed, it arrived very fast, and was very well packaged. Works like a charm.
I received my memory as expected. I installed it and it works great.
I received my product as described the turnaround was pretty fast. 1 business day. Very satisfied
Worked great in my r730xd...2 NVME Samsung 990Pros
