The HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen9 is a Dual Processor system with 12 DIMM slots per CPU. There are four memory channels per CPU. Each memory channel manages three DIMM slots. Along with the standard Registered RDIMM, the HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen9 also supports options for Load Reduced LRDIMM. Different speeds can be mixed but the modules will function at the slowest speed installed.

   The HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen9 Server supports load reduced DIMM (LRDIMM). ECC Load Reduced Memory detects and corrects single-bit errors in memory using parity bits and a series of mathematical equations and reduces electrical load on the system’s memory controller when compared to other types of memory modules. In ECC Load Reduced memory, Registers (also called buffers) sit between the memory module’s address bus and the physical memory chips. Additional registers also sit between the Memory chips and the data bus, further reducing load on the system’s memory controller in comparison to ECC registered memory.
   
   
7. Can I mix ECC Reg with ECC unbuffered or Non-ECC memory?
   The HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen9 Server does not support the use of both unregistered and registered memory with ECC or the use of non-ECC memory. It is recommended to use identical memory configuration in all channels.
