Chassis
Dell PowerEdge R730 2U Server has up to a eight to sixteen hard drive chassis which offers plenty of storage options. The chassis cannot be reconfigured or upgraded after purchase. The chassis includes optional vFlash card slot and iDRAC port.

Power button- ACPI-complaint power button with an integrated green power LED.
NMI button - Recessed non-maskable interrupt (NMI) button used to troubleshoot software and device driver errors.
System identification button - Buttons on the back and front of a system to help identify the unit in a data center environment.

Storage
The Dell PowerEdge R730 2U Server has excellent storage options for internal and external storage. For internal storage, the Dell PowerEdge R730 can support up to eight or sixteen hard drives and has an all-flash drive configuration that allows up to twenty-four drives with dual-PERC 1.8-inch solid state drives. For the ultimate in disaster recovery backup, the Dell PowerEdge R730 supports external storage options for host bus adapters: RAID based PERC H830 and non-RAID based 12Gbps SAS.

The Dell PowerEdge R730 handles up to twenty-two cores per processor which employ its Virtualization and Hyper-Threading Technology. Processor families include Intel® Xeon® E5-2600 v4.

Memory
The Dell PowerEdge R730 supports 24 DIMM Slots and operates on ECC Registered or Load Reduced DDR4 Memory Modules. You have the choice of 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB memory module sizes which can be used with the server. We recommend either the value configuration of 24 x 64GB modules or the next step up, 24 x 128GB. Either way, you will have a fast system to knock out your enterprise service goals.
